The OM System (formerly Olympus) M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 II is a refreshed version of the classic wide-angle prime lens for Micro Four Thirds systems, released in February 2025.
Key Updates in Mark II
Weather Sealing: The most significant addition is IPX1-rated dust and splash protection, allowing for use in adverse weather conditions when paired with weather-sealed camera bodies.
Removal of the Focus Clutch: Unlike the original version, the Mark II no longer features the mechanical snap-ring/manual focus clutch and the visible distance scale.
ZERO Coating: It now features the Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical (ZERO) coating to minimize ghosting and flare.
Included Lens Hood: A lens hood is now officially included in the standard retail package.
Design & Weight: Due to the removal of the clutch mechanism, the lens is slightly lighter, weighing 112g compared to the original's 120g.
